TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONS
FROM I-10 EAST & WEST. Exit "East Sam Houston Parkway/Beltway 8" northbound. Head north under US 90 (Crosby Freeway) overpass for another quarter-of-a-mile and take the "JCT 90 (Business)" exit. There is a brown highway sign "Sheldon Lake State Park" marking the exit. Turn right (east) on Business 90 (Beaumont Highway) for two miles to Park Road 138. There is also a brown highway sign on the right of the road for the Sheldon Lake Environmental Learning Center. Turn left on Park Road 138 then over railroad tracks to the ELC entrance.
FROM NORTH SAM HOUSTON PARKWAY EAST. Turn left on Garrett Rd. for one-half-mile to Fauna Rd.
Turn right (south) on Fauna will become Pineland Rd.
On your left is the Sheldon Lake levee. After two-and-a-half miles
(across railroad tracks) you come to a traffic light. Turn left (east) at this
traffic light onto Business 90 (Beaumont Highway). Proceed one
mile to Park Road 138. There is also a brown highway sign on the right of the road for
the Sheldon Lake Environmental Learning Center. Turn left then over railroad
tracks to the ELC entrance.
